Yu Haifeng, director of the Department of Geological Exploration and Management of the Ministry of Natural Resources, said that since the implementation of the strategic action of prospecting breakthrough in 2011, China has formed a number of strategic continuity zones for important mineral resources, and the amount of major mineral resources has generally increased under the condition that mining consumption continues to increase

Yu Haifeng introduced that 23 large oilfields of 100 million tons and 28 large air fields of 100 billion square meters have been newly discovered in oil and natural gas, and 32 new resource bases
have been formed for non-oil and gas minerals.
The new proven geological reserves of oil in the west account for more than half of the country, and the output accounts for about 1/3
of the country.
The newly proven geological reserves and production of natural gas in western China account for more than
80% of the country.
Marine oil and gas production accounts for about 1/4
of the country.
In particular, in 2021, the crude oil production of Bohai Sea Oilfield will exceed 30 million tons, and the new output will increase
significantly.
In addition, 32 new non-oil and gas mineral resource bases have been formed, and 25 of them are in the western part of
China.
The new resources of more than 80 old mines have reached a large and medium-sized scale, and nearly 800 production mines have extended the service life to varying degrees

Moreover, the degree of basic geological survey work in China has been continuously improved, the coverage rate of 1:50,000 regional geological surveys has increased from 24.

At the same time, it also issued the "three rate" index requirements for 124 mineral species such as coal and iron, selected and promoted 360 advanced and applicable technologies, processes and equipment, and increased the oil recovery rate by an average of 9 percentage points, the recovery rate of solid mineral mining increased by an average of 8 percentage points, and the recovery rate of mineral processing increased by an average of 9.
