Inner Mongolia Wuhai degradable new material industry chain integration project started

The BDO (1,4 butanediol)-PBAT (degradable plastic) integration project invested by Wuhai Guangjin New Materials Co.
, Ltd.
, Inner Mongolia, was officially filed with the local development and reform department on May 20, 2022

The WeChat official account of Inner Mongolia Chemical Industry learned from relevant departments that the construction site of the project is located in the Low-Carbon Industrial Park of the High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Hainan District, Wuhai City.
The planned construction start and end years are from August 2022 to August 2025

According to reports, this project will be constructed in two phases.
The first phase will build a 300,000/year 1,4-butanediol (BDO) project, a 120,000-ton/year calcium carbide acetylene plant, and a 3x100,000-ton/year BDO ( 1,4 butanediol) device, 3x240,000 tons/year formaldehyde (37%) device, as well as the public works devices and auxiliary facilities for these devices

Among them, the main BDO unit adopts acetylenic aldehyde technology, using acetylene gas from the acetylene unit, formaldehyde solution from the formaldehyde unit and hydrogen produced by the upstream unit as raw materials, through acetylenic reaction, hydrogenation reaction and rectification to produce 1,4-butane Diol (BDO) products
