Huntsman Group's acquisition of UK-based IFS announced on May 1 that it had completed the acquisition of IFS Chemicals Limited (IFS), a leading independent MDI-based
systems formulation company in the UK, at an undisclosed
price.
Based in Kingsling, England, IFS was founded 35 years ago with customized MDI systems for a wide range of end markets, including insulation, appliances, automotive and elastomer applications
.

Commenting on the acquisition, Tony Hankins, President of Huntsman's Urevian Division, said, "IFS's experienced team and loyal customer base are in an excellent position to help us tap into the growing downstream MDI systems market in
the UK.
IFS will be a strategic platform
to expand the company's reach and consolidate its market leadership.
The acquisition is the latest step in Huntsman's plan to diversify its downstream business, which now has 25 facilities worldwide, representing the company's confidence in the long-term growth of the
MDI-based polyurethane market.
