Issue 10/2018 - BASF joins forces with Solenis to operate paper and water treatment chemicals

BASF and Solenis jointly operate paper and water chemicals business Recently, BASF and Solenis signed an agreement to jointly operate
BASF's wet-end paper chemicals and water treatment chemicals business
with Solenis.
The joint company will operate under the Solenis name and be headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware
, USA.
Subject to approval by the relevant authorities, the transaction is expected to close
by the end of 2018 at the earliest.

The transaction covers BASF's global wet end paper chemicals and water treatment chemicals businesses, and the paper coating chemicals portfolio is not covered by
the transaction.
For the paper industry, the consortium's portfolio will cover a comprehensive range of wet-end functions and process chemicals, paper mill water recycling solutions; For the water treatment industry, the consortium will provide customers with Solenis' premium services and BASF's broad platform
for water treatment chemistries.
