Toray Expands Production of Automotive Polypropylene Film
Recently, Toray of Japan announced that it will expand the capacity of Torayfan directional polypropylene (PP) film for automotive capacitors at its Tsuchiura Plant in Ibaraki Prefecture by 60%, which is expected to be completed
in 2022.
The goal is to meet the expanding market demand
for electric vehicles.

Toray said its Torayfan dominates the automotive capacitor film market with its thinness and voltage resistance

The company expects demand for electric vehicles to grow at an annual rate of 20%, with Europe and China becoming the main markets
