Ontario recently announced a partnership with Bioindustrial Innovation Canada to establish a new Biotechnology Hub in the Sarnia-Lambton region to promote innovation in biotechnology and address the challenges of biotechnology commercialization while further enhancing Ontario's image
。
Ontario will allocate $3 million over the next four years from initiatives to promote business growth to invest in a centre
of excellence for the commercialization of sustainable chemistry innovations at the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park, Canada's largest cleantech incubator.
The establishment of this Center of Excellence will help address the challenges of cleantech development and further break through development bottlenecks
.
Murray McLaughlin, Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Bioinnovation, said: "We are excited to work with Ontario to bridge the theoretical concepts of the bioeconomy with commercial trade
.
Through this investment, we will drive the further development of the biotech ecosystem in Sarnia and Southern Ontario, thereby making a positive and long-term contribution
to the overall economic development of Ontario.
