Issue 13, 2019 - Evonik's integrated methionine plant in Singapore goes into operation

Evonik's integrated methionine plant in Singapore was commissioned
on June 18, and after two years of construction, Evonik's second integrated plant for DL-methionine and other precursor products in Singapore is officially commissioned as planned, with an investment of more than 500 million euros and a capacity of 150,000 metric tons
.
The new factory is based on the original factory that has already been fully operated as a template and is built
adjacent to it.

In addition, Evonik's pyrogenic silica plant in Antwerp, Belgium, has recently been successfully expanded
.
The investment in this expansion amounts to tens of millions of euros
.
With this expansion, Evonik's global production capacity of the silica portfolio reaches around 1 million tons, which can better meet the demand
for AEROSIL^® brand fumed silica in the high-end market.
The expansion also upgrades the production line at the Antwerp plant, making it Evonik's second hydrophobic silica production site
in Europe.
