Issue 14/2015 - BASF customizes innovative Seltima® fungicides for rice fields

BASF has officially launched the innovative Seltima® fungicide to help farmers improve rice production efficiency and quality
.
It is unique in its new microencapsulation technology, which ensures a long-lasting release of active ingredients, resulting in improved product performance, longer onset of action, and better protection of the environment
around the crop.
The product is now available in Indonesia and will be launched
in other major rice-producing countries in the near future.

Sultima's exclusive microencapsulation technology ensures the precise release
of the active ingredient F 500 on the surface of the rice leaves.
Compared to conventional dosage forms, this new microencapsulation technology better improves the toxicological properties of the product and is more environmentally friendly, which is the result of
BASF's "One Initiative" know-how.

Seltima is also part of BASF's AgCelence technology portfolio: in addition to controlling major rice diseases, it also improves rice yield and quality
.
It can make the leaves greener, the rice plants healthier, and reduce the adverse effects
of harsh environments such as high temperature stress.
