The European Union restricts the use of 5 parabens in cosmetics
Recently, the European Commission revised Annex II of the European Cosmetics Regulation, and five new parabens have been added to the list of restricted substances in cosmetics, namely isopropylparaben, isobutylparaben, benzylparaben, phenyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and pentanyl paraben
.
In addition to restricting the above five substances, the annex to the revised regulation also stipulates that the maximum allowable concentration of dichlorophenoxychlorophenol in mouthwash is 0.
2%, and the maximum allowable concentration in other cosmetics such as toothpaste, hand soap, and flour is 0.
3%.
In addition, the annex also stipulates that the maximum allowable concentration of hydroxybenzoic acid and its salts and esters for the preparation of acids in monoesters is 0.
4%, and the maximum allowable concentration of acids in mixed esters is 0.

Until October 30, 2014, manufacturers can still sell their cosmetics products
that do not comply with the new regulations on the market.
From June 30, 2015, all products circulating in the market must comply with the new regulations
