Issue 17/2018 - The new brand of thermoplastic composites benefits many sectors

Covestro has launched its new brand^MaezioTM
to promote its continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites (CFRTP).

Made from continuous carbon or glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate, thermoplastic polyurethane or other thermoplastic resins, the product is strong, lightweight, and aesthetically pleasing, and can be combined into an unlimited number of products, giving designers new creative opportunities

The composite's robust properties will benefit OEMs and component suppliers in industries such as transportation, electronics, consumer goods and medical to achieve cost-effective and large-scale production
.
It can be processed using existing thermoforming tools with high yields and short
cycle times.
In addition, production technologies such as injection molding, automatic tape laying, and automatic wire laying are also suitable for this composite material

^MaezioTM products can also be recycled
at the end of their useful life.
