    New progress has been made in the research of composite functional lubrication materials

    Recently, researchers from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, based on the design and functional assembly strategy of interface interaction between different components, carried out systematic research on polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-based core-shell composite lubrication materials in structural regulation, lubrication and wear resistance optimization and tribological mechanism, which provided experimental basis and theoretical guidance
    for the design of functional lubrication materials with both strength and multi-environment adaptability.

    The researchers combined in-situ polymerization and thermoforming technology to develop core-shell PTFE-phenolic resin composites with excellent self-lubrication and wear resistance under different working conditions such as temperature, load, speed and dual roughness, and exhibited the formation mechanism and enhancement of long-range ordered directional transfer film of
    duplex polymer chains under friction induction.

    In addition, the researchers used electrostatic self-assembly method to construct core-shell composite particles coated with PTFE and their enhanced epoxy resin-based coating materials
    .
    The coating material exhibits stable lubrication and wear resistance
    in atmosphere, high humidity and vacuum environments.
