    Recently, Eni Group (ENI) said it has agreed to acquire BP's business in Algeria, a deal that will further meet Europe's gas demand

    ENI said the acquisition includes BP's 33.
    15 percent and 45.
    89 percent mining interests
    in two gas licence areas in sub-Saharan Africa.

    The two assets, named "In Salah" and "In Amenas", jointly operated by Algerian state oil company Sonatrach and Statoil, produced about 11 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 12 million barrels of condensate and liquefied petroleum gas
    in 2021.
