BASF plans to build a world-class vitamin A plant On October 4, BASF announced a plan to expand its vitamin A production capacity, saying that it has begun plans to build a world-class vitamin A plant at its integrated plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, to increase its vitamin A production capacity by 1,500 tons, and the new plant
is scheduled to start production
in 2020.
Michael Heinz, member of BASF's Board of Directors, said: "We can maximize the use of resources at BASF's Verbund plant and the new production line will also strengthen the competitiveness
of the Ludwigshafen plant.
" In
addition, its joint venture plant in Malaysia has completed the installation of citral and citronellol production equipment and supporting infrastructure in early September 2016, and the menthol
production unit will be completed in 2017.
