Kuraray increased
European production capacity for recycled activated carbon
Recently, Kuraray announced that the company will increase its recycled activated carbon production capacity in Europe, and the new recycled activated carbon production line will be put into use
in the second half of 2022.
Kuraray's U.
S.
subsidiary, Calgon Carbon, will invest in Chemviron's Feluy plant in
Belgium.
The annual capacity of recycled activated carbon at the plant will increase by 11,000 tons, accounting for 7-80%
of the current production capacity.
With increasingly stringent environmental controls and the sustainable use of natural resources in Europe, the demand for activated carbon for the purification of waste gas and wastewater has increased
dramatically.
To this end, Kuraray decided to expand the supply capacity
of activated carbon.
The used activated carbon can be reused
after being recovered for high-temperature heat treatment.
Calgon Carbon is currently recycling used activated carbon from factories and other areas for recycling
.
