Shell signs CCS agreements with Southeast Asia

Shell recently announced that it has signed agreements with Brunei and Singapore to jointly study carbon capture and storage (CCS) project development
.

Shell says it aims to reach at least 25 million tonnes of CCS capacity per year by 2035 and become a net-zero energy company
by 2050.
Under the agreement, Shell, Brunei and Singapore governments will assess the technical and commercial feasibility of
Brunei's carbon storage scheme and Singapore's carbon transport scheme respectively.
This will facilitate cooperation between the two countries in formulating relevant policies and complement the efforts of the two governments to deepen cooperation in the fields of energy and green economy

As a supplier of CO2 capture technology, Shell highlighted that the company's shipping business unit is involved in the development and construction of vessels
specifically designed to carry liquid CO2 from CCS sources.
