Shell plans to build a biofuel plant in Singapore

On November 23, Shell announced plans to build a 550,000-tonne-per-year biofuels plant in Singapore to help it meet its goal of
    halving emissions by 2030.

The plant will produce hydrogen from cooking oil and animal fat, which will then be used as a feedstock
for the production of diesel for road transport, aviation fuel or chemicals.

In addition, Shell will also build a pyrolysis oil upgrade plant to improve the quality of
    pyrolysis oil.
    Pyrolysis oil is a liquid
made from plastic waste that is difficult to recycle.
With an annual capacity of 50,000 tons, the plant can process plastic waste
equivalent to the weight of 7.
    8 billion plastic bags.
