Alfa Laval launches new pharmaceutical heat exchangers

Alfalaval has launched the Compabloc FreeFlow
, a highly efficient all-welded plate heat exchanger developed specifically for pharmaceutical applications.

Compabloc FreeFlow has excellent heat exchange performance, requiring a much smaller heat transfer area than shell-and-tube or graphite heat exchangers of the same size, which is only 1/5 the size of shell-and-tube type, but the heat transfer effect is even better
.
Compared with shell-and-tube or graphite heat exchangers, it can operate under
less temperature differential conditions.
This means that less refrigerant is required and, in some cases, a cooler, lower cost refrigerant
can be used.
Thanks to the small size of the Compabloc FreeFlow, its investment and installation costs are low, even if the equipment is made of a strongly corrosion-resistant material such as Hastelloy alloy.
