Arkema and Oxis Energy are developing a new generation of battery technology

Recently, Arkema signed an agreement with the British company Oxis Energy to jointly develop a new generation of battery technology to improve the performance of
    lithium-sulfur polymer batteries.
Compared with ordinary batteries currently on the market, lithium-sulfur polymer battery technology can complement lithium-ion systems, have double energy density, good reliability and lower production and operating costs, and will become a new generation of battery technology
    .

Based on the input power and the reliability requirements of lithium-sulfur polymer electrochemical technology, Arkema and Oxis Energy identified several key areas
    for enhancement.
Under the agreement, Arkema will supply special materials such as carbon nanotubes, electrolytes and advanced polymers for testing by Oxis Energy, with the aim of improving the conductivity of the electrolyte to improve energy density, while enhancing the mechanical properties of some components to extend the life and safety
    of the battery.

Huw Hampson-Jones, CEO of Oxis Energy, which specializes in the design, development and industrial production of lithium-sulfur polymer batteries, said that the special compounds designed and developed by Arkema will significantly increase the available power of lithium-sulfur polymer battery systems, extending the life and life of
    the batteries.
Compared to current lithium-ion battery technology, these improvements will have a huge impact
in enhancing the safety of electric vehicles.

Arkema and Oxis Energy have been working together for several years to establish Arkema as a leading supplier of
    next-generation polymer lithium battery systems.
The next-generation polymer battery system will be mainly used in electric vehicles, solar and wind power generation systems, and defense equipment
    .
