Evonik's new sodium cyanide plant starts operations
in Mexico on February 22, and the sodium cyanide production plant of a joint venture between Evonik and Grupo IDESA in Mexico opens in Quaccharcos
, Mexico.
The new plant, with a capacity of 40,000 tons, uses advanced hydrocyanic acid and cyanide technologies and undergoes rigorous testing to ensure that sodium cyanide production complies with the International
Cyanide Management Code (ICMC).

Dr.
Linker Inch, Chairman of Evonik, said: "The commissioning of the new plant will make us a more flexible supplier in the region and represent an important step in Evonik's growth strategy"
