    Dalian University of Technology developed a new type of superhydrophobic surface A few days ago, Liu Yahua, associate researcher of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Dalian University of Technology, developed a material surface
    with excellent hydrophobic performance, which is composed of large-scale curved surfaces, simple form, easy to prepare, low cost, can be used to manufacture anti-ice materials, with self-cleaning, antibacterial and other functions
    .

    Inspired by the convex and concave structure of the surface of the jade lotus, the biomimetic superhydrophobic wavy structure surface was designed and prepared, which revealed the influence of structural arc on the microscopic momentum transport of droplets, developed and improved the asymmetric bounce theory of droplets, and shortened the solid-liquid contact time by 40%.

    The superhydrophobic surface designed and prepared in this study breaks the kinetic process
    of symmetric spreading and retraction of droplets in traditional research.
    Compared with the plane, the droplet retraction speed is accelerated and the liquid-solid contact time is reduced, thus breaking the theoretical limit
    of the contact time between the droplet and the substrate.

    It is understood that this new surface has a wide range of uses, such as preventing the metal surface of aircraft wings and engines from freezing
    .
    In addition, anti-icing surfaces are indispensable
    in air conditioning systems.
    After frost or ice forms on the surface of the evaporator of the air conditioning system, a large amount of thermal resistance will be formed, and the pressure drop of the entire heat exchanger will be increased, weakening the overall efficiency of the air conditioning system and causing a large amount of undue energy loss
    .
    And it has a wide range of application potential at the industrial level, such as water storage, energy saving, environmental protection and disease prevention, as well as improving the durability and ductility of materials
