Issue 9, 2016 - New catalyst achieves a conversion rate of more than 95% for inferior heavy oil

The R&D team of the National Engineering Research Center for Fertilizer Catalysts of
Fuzhou University has taken the lead in developing a high-performance catalyst in China that meets the requirements of a super suspended bed hydrogenation industrial device with an annual processing of 158,000 tons, achieving a total conversion rate of inferior heavy oil of more than
95%.

It is understood that suspended bed heavy oil hydrogenation is currently the world's most advanced heavy oil hydrogenation technology, under high temperature, high hydrogen pressure and high altitude speed through hydrogenation to produce light raw material oil

Taking the suspended bed hydrogenation device that processes 1 million tons of inferior heavy oil per year as an example, about 1.
5% of the catalyst must be added for every ton of inferior heavy oil processed, and the annual catalyst demand reaches 15,000 tons, and the output value of the catalyst will reach more than
200 million yuan.
At present, China has about 200 million tons of inferior oil, if 10% of the inferior oil is lightened by suspended bed hydrogenation technology, the catalyst will become one of
the world's most consumed catalysts per year.
