News from China Petrochemical News Network Since this year, Jiangsu Oilfield has broken the mindset and organized the application of "one-open-drilling-finish" application research.

In 2020, 94% of the wells in Jiangsu Oilfield will adopt the "two-shot" wellbore structure, which reduces costs by more than 10% compared to the traditional "three-shot".

Jiangsu Oilfield broke the convention, innovated and sought change, and decided to expand the space of cost reduction by achieving "one start and finish drilling".

Jiangsu Oilfield is a low-pressure and low-permeability oilfield, which has the conditions for implementing "one start and finish drilling".

The Development Management Department, together with the Exploration Management Department, the Ministry of Safety and Environmental Protection, and the Academy of Engineering, repeatedly demonstrated the feasibility of "drilling at one start".

In response to the difficulties in the implementation of "one-opening and completion" wells, the technicians proposed the "two short and one long" short trip method, which regularly repairs the upper well wall, and reduces water loss by improving the drilling fluid suppression and plugging performance to ensure the well wall stable.

At present, the "Drilling Completion in One Start" has been successfully applied to 5 wells.

In the next step, Jiangsu Oilfield will expand the application scale of conventional wells within 2500 meters of the "one start and finish drilling", and demonstrate the scope of popularization and application of well depths above 3000 meters.
