Recently, LANXESS announced that its Polyurethane Systems business unit and materials artificial intelligence company Citrine Informatics (CI) have entered into a project partnership to launch a prepolymer product expansion project

According to LANXESS, CI is an industry leader in the use of data and artificial intelligence to accelerate the development of materials and chemicals

Markus Eckert, head of LANXESS's Polyurethane Systems business unit, said that in the next step, LANXESS data experts and process experts will explore the reliability of using artificial intelligence to predict the best formulations to meet customer-specific requirements for product characteristics

He Weiker, head of LANXESS' digitalization program, believes that until now, chemists have largely had to rely on their expertise and years of experience

Eckert said that LANXESS has accumulated some experience using artificial intelligence

LANXESS launched its digitalization program in 2017 and established a dedicated team for this purpose
