In 2020, Emerald Kalama Chemicals posted global sales of approximately $425 million (€375 million) and EBITDA before exceptions of approximately $90 million (€80 million)

Acquisition strengthens product portfolio in plastics, paints and coatings, and adhesives industries

In this second-largest acquisition in LANXESS' history, the company expanded its range of specialty chemicals for industrial applications, particularly in the plastics, paints and coatings, and adhesives industries

An important addition to the new LANXESS portfolio is the K-Flex range of non-phthalate plasticizers and coagulants for adhesives, coatings, sealants and vinyl applications

Dr.
Thomas Facklam, Head of Global Application Technology for the Polymer Additives business unit, emphasizes: "The new product expands LANXESS' existing product range and offers growth opportunities in the field of non-phthalate plasticizers that meet the needs of plastics processing.
The most modern requirements of the industry

Other important additions to the overall portfolio for industrial applications include Kalama Vitroflex plasticizers for the manufacture of polysulfide sealants, and Modulast modifiers for reactive polyurethane systems

Finally, benzoic acid, benzaldehyde and benzoates will complement future products from LANXESS
