On September 19, LANXESS announced that it will replace polyamide 66 (PA66) in electric vehicles
.

Bernhard Helbich, Technical Key Account Manager for LANXESS' Performance Materials business unit, said that the large-scale application of PA6 shows that PA6 mixtures do not require hydrolysis stabilization to be used in cooling systems
in electric vehicles together with glycol-water coolants.

LANXESS explained that the plastic parts in the cooling circuit of the internal combustion engine have long been manufactured with PA66, which is highly resistant to hot coolants
