Middle East's first nuclear power plant, Reactor-1 reaches 50% capacity

The reactors of Unit 1 of the UAE's Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, the first nuclear power plant in the Middle East, have reached 50 percent of their power generation capacity, according to the finest news
from Nawah Energy Company, a joint venture between Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) and Korea Electric Power.

The company said that reaching 50% power in Unit 1 of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant is an important step in the Power Boost Test (PAT) process, a historic moment
for the UAE's peaceful nuclear energy program.
At present, Unit 1 has already incorporated the first batch of clean electricity
into the UAE transmission system.

Mohamed Ibrahim Al Hammadi, CEO of ENEC, said: "The UAE is now ushering in an era
of peaceful and safe use of nuclear energy in the Middle East with Unit 1 of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.
The UAE Peace Nuclear Energy Programme is the growth engine of our country, providing abundant clean electricity to support the UAE's economic diversification efforts while contributing
to the country's climate change commitments.
