In recent years, our ministry has attached great importance to the development of the biodegradable plastics industry, and actively promoted the development and application of biodegradable plastics

Regarding the improvement of standards and evaluation systems for degradable plastics

Our ministry attaches great importance to the establishment of a standard system for degradable plastics, and has successively promoted the establishment of national standards for basic general purpose, important products and corresponding testing methods in the field of degradable plastics in conjunction with relevant departments, and promoted the revision of the "Definition, Classification, Identification and Degradability Requirements of Degradable Plastics".

Standards, the introduction of "General Technical Requirements for Disposable Degradable Tableware" and other standards for degradable plastic products, the release of 8 industry standards such as "Polylactic acid monofilament" and "Polylactic acid cold drink straws", and arrangements have been made for "Degradable Insulation Boxes" and "Electronic Products" "Degradable linings for packaging" and other industry standard programs are organizing relevant units to carry out preliminary research work on standards for biodegradable plastics

In the next step, our ministry will continue to support the formulation and revision of national standards in the field of biodegradable plastics such as "Biodegradable Materials and Products Degradability and Labeling Requirements", "Full Biodegradable Drinking Straws" and other national standards in the field of biodegradable plastics in the links of standard project establishment, approval and release, etc.

The first is to include the development of high-end bio-based materials as a key task in the preparation of the "14th Five-Year" raw material industry plan, and include bio-based materials such as polylactic acid and bio-based plasticizers into the "Guiding Catalogue for the First Batch of Key New Materials Application Demonstration".
Include biodegradable plastics in the encouraged category of the "Industrial Structure Adjustment Guidance Catalog"; second, support the construction of new material production and application demonstration platforms, promote the construction of relevant degradable materials production demonstration lines, and promote the development and application of degradable materials; third, successively formulate the "green Design Product Evaluation Technical Specifications for Household Water-Based Polyurethane Synthetic Leather, "Green Design Product Evaluation Technical Specifications for Leather Polyurethane Resin" and other green design product standards, select and release 21 green design products such as fully biodegradable plastic bags, increase the supply of green products, and promote Green consumption

In the next step, our ministry will work with relevant departments to further promote the application of recyclable, easily recyclable, and degradable alternative products to promote source reduction of disposable plastic products; cultivate key enterprises in the comprehensive utilization of waste plastics industry, and announce the list of enterprises that meet the regulatory requirements.
