On February 2, Mitsui & Co.
announced that Sun Edison, which is committed to the development and operation of photovoltaic power generation in the United States, will acquire the industrial business unit and establish a new company
.
The purchase price is approximately JPY 1 billion to JPY 2 billion
.
The new company, called "Fore front power," is located in California
, USA.

companies will strengthen their environmental response strategies by installing photovoltaic power generation
on the roofs of their buildings and factories.
This is Japan's first heat and power supply business
jointly funded by a private company and a local organization.
In April of the same year, the joint investment company Smart Energy Iwata will start selling
electricity.
In 2018, Smart Energy Iwata will build a natural gas-powered power station to supply heat
to neighboring companies and other places.
There is a view in the industry that the corporate environmental response strategy and the US government's renewable energy introduction support strategy will continue to support
under the Trump administration.
Last year, Mitsui & Co.

invested in Sun barge Energy, a new energy investment company, using the decentralized power supply system of the power storage system, and in 2015, it will use storage batteries to participate in the U.
