On January 5, India's Nayara Energy announced that the company's new 450,000 tons/year polypropylene (PP) plant is expected to start operations
    in October~December 2023.
The new PP unit will be located adjacent to the company's existing refinery in Vadinall, Gujarat, western India, with a capital expenditure of approximately US$750 million
    .

Nayara Energy said: "The new PP unit is part of the company's vision to transform and revitalize the Vardinal refinery and will transform it into a world-class integrated refining and petrochemical complex
    .
It is reported that Nayara Energy's petrochemical complex is being developed in phases, with the first phase of the project including a PP plant, a propylene recovery unit, and the retrofit and upgrade
of an existing catalytic cracking (FCC) plant.
The company added that the retrofitted FCC unit was commissioned on December 20, 2022, and the company expects to begin pre-commissioning activities for the propylene recovery unit in February this year
