According to foreign media on July 11, Nigeria is taking the first step to expand its liquefied natural gas production capacity by one-third, listing a $12 billion plan to help it keep up with the world's largest fuel producers

Nigeria is joining the United States and Australia in increasing production of the fastest-growing fossil fuels to help meet China's growing demand
for the Middle East.
Its latest plan is to increase production from the current 22 million tons to 30 million tons
in 2024.
Nigerian LNG shareholders said last week that plant expansion was "very important" as the market "boomed again"
.
"Our vision is to be a large company with a global presence that helps build a better Nigeria," said Tony Attah, CEO of Nigerian LNG in London.

Bloomberg New Energy Finance said in March that global LNG demand would grow 72%
between 2017 and 2030.
