Norwegian Petroleum Agency: Norway's natural gas production will remain high for many years

On January 9, Norway's current high gas production will be maintained for at least five years
, as operators have committed $30.
3 billion to develop new fields and extend the life of fields.

Torgail Stoddall, Director General of Norwegian Petroleum Authority, said: "Major future investments will help ensure that Norway can continue to be a reliable energy supplier to Europe

"In 2022, Norwegian gas production was 9 billion standard cubic meters
higher than in 2021.
"Norwegian gas production will continue to grow in the coming years and is expected to remain at
2022 levels for at least the next five years," said the Norwegian Petroleum Agency.
According to the Norwegian Petroleum Board, the continued increase in production is due to the commissioning of several new gas fields in Norway last year, coupled with longer production times for some older fields and production exceeding previous expectations
