Recently, Clariant announced that it has laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art catalyst production base in the Pinghu Dushan Port Economic Development Zone, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province

The new site will be primarily responsible for the production of CATOFIN™ catalysts for the propane dehydrogenation process, which can be used to produce olefin products including propylene

The new plant in Jiaxing will be the most digitized production site for Clariant's catalyst business to date, with advanced automation systems integrated throughout the production process

Stefan Heuser, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Clariant's Catalysts Business Unit, said: "The Jiaxing CATOFIN™ catalyst plant is an important part of our China strategy and further strengthens our commitment to China's growing propane dehydrogenation market

The relevant person in charge of Clariant pointed out that China is one of the major producers of proprietary propylene in the world
