On December 14, the coal chemical volatile organic compounds (VOCs) oxidation catalyst independently developed by the Beijing Low Carbon and Clean Energy Research Institute of China Energy Group (hereinafter referred to as the Low Carbon Institute) completed a 600-hour stable operation test on the pilot platform of coal-to-liquids VOCs tail gas side in Ningxia Coal Industry and achieved the expected results
.
This marks an important progress
in the development of VOCs treatment technology for coal chemical industry in low-carbon institutes.
The National Energy Group's science and technology innovation project "Development and Engineering Demonstration of Key Materials for Oxidation Catalysis of Coal Chemical VOCs" is jointly undertaken
by the Low Carbon Institute and Ningxia Coal Industry in accordance with the mode of combining production and research.
The Low-carbon Institute is responsible for VOCs emission characteristic analysis, core catalyst development and equipment development, etc.
, and Ningxia Coal Industry is responsible for pilot platform construction, catalyst long-term assessment, VOCs treatment project construction and operation, etc
.
In this pilot test, aiming at the emission of VOCs in the decarburized tail gas of coal-to-liquid-by-Tropsch synthesis, a high hydrothermal stable oxidation catalyst independently developed by the Low-carbon Institute was used to achieve a total hydrocarbon concentration of less than 60 mg/standard cubic meter at the exhaust gas outlet, which was better than the current emission limit of VOCs in coal chemical industry
.
In the next step, the Low-Carbon Institute will continue to cooperate with Ningxia Coal Industry to jointly promote the application of this technology in VOCs treatment projects such as coal gasification and purification low-temperature methanol washing unit, polyolefin silo tail gas, tank farm unit and so on, so as to help the high-end, diversified and low-carbon development of the coal chemical industry of
China Energy Group.
