According to Hydrocarbon Processing News on September 14, Blasco announced that its latest world-class polypropylene production line has been successfully put into commercial production in Laporte, Texas, USA.

Blasco's new production line has an annual capacity of more than 450,000 tons, or 1 billion pounds per year, and has the ability to produce a full range of polypropylene products, including homopolymers, impact copolymers and random copolymers.
Mark Nikolich, CEO of Blasco USA, said: "The start of commercial production of our new world-class polypropylene production line in La Porte clearly confirms Blasco's position as the leader in the North American polypropylene market.
The construction of this facility has had a positive impact on the economy of the Texas Gulf Coast area, which employs approximately 1,300 development and construction workers.
Alexandre Elias, Vice President of Polypropylene North America, said: "Our new production line was put into operation at a time when the North American polypropylene industry needed it most.
