[Plastic] Tarim Ethane to Ethylene Project 492-ton Ethylene Tower Hoisting Completed

The Tarim Ethane to Ethylene Project is one of the first batch of pure ethane feed ethylene plants in China built by relying on the rich natural gas resources of the Tarim Oilfield and PetroChina’s independent ethylene process technology.

At the hoisting site, a set of 93-meter-high portal towers were installed.

He Yunjie, the project manager of the Tarim Ethane to Ethylene Project Department, said: "The lifting of the ethylene tower marks the peak of the lifting of our 600,000 ethane to ethylene towers in Tarim.

Ethylene tower belongs to over-limit equipment, which is the heaviest, tallest, and largest diameter tower among all tower equipment in the ethylene plant.

Wang Lisong, the construction manager of the ethylene plant of the Beijing Huanqiu Ethane to Ethylene Project, told reporters that the biggest difficulty in ethylene tower hoisting was the selection and comparison of the hoisting schemes in the early stage, especially the safety and the lifting weight.

The Tarim Ethane to Ethylene Project started in June 2019.

According to Wang Lisong, the ethane-to-ethylene plant is the first ethane-to-ethylene plant in China.

It is understood that the total investment of the Tarim Ethane to Ethylene Project is 9.

"After the completion of the ethane-to-ethylene project, it will greatly alleviate domestic ethylene resources and reduce imports.
