Plate and frame membrane modules and processes
The earliest membrane module was a flat ultrafiltration membrane module developed in the 1960s and 1970s.

The problem of component assembly (or assembly) and the composability of components must also be considered in the component structure and process design
The structural changes of the plate and frame membrane module are mainly in the shape and flow channel, but the overall variability is small

Although the plate-and-frame membrane module is the first module to be used, it has the following main problems compared to other forms of membrane modules: First, the packing density of the membrane in the module (membrane area per unit space volume) is low, and a single module The flux is small; the second is that a large number of sealing gaskets are needed when the components are combined in the application, which is prone to fluid leakage; the third is the high manufacturing cost
