PolyOne has introduced reSound™ OM (overmolded) thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), a new addition to its portfolio of sustainable solutio.
"Manufacturers want to incorporate eco-friendly materials into their designs while still meeting functional requirements, especially those manufacturers of consumer goods," said Jim Mattey, global marketing director for PolyOne Specialty Engineered Materia.
The new reSound OM grade achieves both goals by utilizing a high volume of renewable ingredients without compromising the properties of the material itse.
The portfolio includes four overmolding grades compatible with rigid polypropylene, one of which is also suitable for overmolding on A.
In addition, the new grades are easy to color and suitable for applications such as cosmetic packaging, personal care products and consumer electroni.
When manufacturing with reSound OM, production waste can be reused, further enhancing sustainabili.
