According to "Chemical Weekly", Japan's Polyplastics said it plans to build a 20,000-ton/year cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) production plant in Leuna, Germany, which is scheduled to be put into operation in mid-2023
.
No investment figures were given
.
Since the Oberhausen plant began operations in 2000, the company's COC polymer resins have been developed for a range of applications, including medical, healthcare, optics, packaging and electronics
.
It added that CO2-enhanced polyethylene (PE) based single-material structures are easier to recycle than other multi-material solutions
