(1) Use of FPD
(1) Hydrogen is the best carrier gas for FPD, followed by helium, and nitrogen is the worst
(2) It is recommended that the operating temperature of FPD is >250℃, and must not be lower than the maximum temperature of the heating program
(3) The gas flow rate of FPD is generally 60-80 mL/min for hydrogen, 100-120 mL/min for air, and 20-25 mL/min for the sum of makeup gas and column flow
(4) It must be ignited after the temperature rises.
(5) The surface of the filter should be clean and free of dirt.
(6) If using a hydrogen generator, pay close attention to the consumption of lye water
(7) Gas filters and oxygen traps should be installed in the gas path
(8) In order to prevent the detector from being contaminated, the temperature setting of the detector should not be lower than the maximum temperature of the chromatographic column
(2) Use of ECD
(1) It is necessary to ensure the high purity of the carrier gas; the deoxygenation tube and dewatering device should be used and replaced in time
(2) The operating temperature should not be too low
(3) When analyzing samples, ensure that the sample is cleaned and try to minimize the sample contamination of the detector.
(4) After turning off the carrier gas and makeup gas, seal the ECD outlet with a plug to prevent air from entering
(5) The sum of the flow rates of carrier gas and makeup gas is generally 60 mL/min
(6) If the ECD is contaminated, it can be burned at high temperature or reduced with hydrogen
(7) It is best to keep the chlorine tail blowing after the daily shutdown
(8) When the high-purity nitrogen carrier gas is less than 2MPa, it is better to replace with new nitrogen
(9) At night, when the instrument is not in use, the temperature of the detector can be reduced to about 100°C and the current can be reduced to a minimum
