Dodecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium bromide
[Alias] Benzalkonium Bromide, Promethazine
[Structural formula]
[Physical and chemical properties] Colorless or light yellow solid or colloidal liquid, easily soluble in water or ethanol , with aromatic odor, extremely bitter taste, cleansing and sterilization
[Preparation method] Dodecyl bromide is prepared from dodecanol and hydrogen bromide in the presence of sulfuric acid, and then ammonium is formed with dimethylbenzylamine
Add lauryl alcohol into a glass-lined reaction tank, slowly add sulfuric acid under stirring and cooling conditions, and add hydrobromic acid after 1 hour
Add dimethylbenzylamine to a glass-lined reactor filled with bromododecane , stir and heat to 80°C, then let the reactant naturally heat up to 110°C, cool, and control the temperature to continue to rise
The process flow is shown in Figure 7-18
