Prysmian Group has been awarded a contract worth around €40 million to build a new submarine cable
between Capri and Sorrento in Italy.

The project will deploy an interconnection of high-voltage AC 150 kV power cables between the power station in Sorrento and the Gasto eco-island in Capri, including a 16 km submarine cable and 3 km of land cable
.
The cable will be produced
at the Arco Fenice plant in Naples.
The cable laying will be done by Prysmian ship Cable Enterprise
.
Prysmian also supplied all relevant network components and required specialist civil engineering
.
The submarine cable project is scheduled for completion
in 2019.
