Moscow reported on October 30 that total polypropylene (PP) production in Russia fell by 3% year-on-year between January and September 2019 to 1,059,400 tons, according to MRC ScanPlast da.
Four producers slowed production for maintenance in September, with output falling to 85,700 tonnes, compared with 119,000 tonnes in Augu.
SIBUR Tobolsk's September production capacity fell to 26,600 tonnes from 32,900 tonnes in the previous month, down 5% year-on-ye.
Production at Poliom Omsk fell to 10,100 tonnes from 19,500 tonnes in August, down 6% from the previous year's overall producti.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim produced 18,000 t of propylene polymer in September, compared with 18,500 t in the previous month, and total production for the January-September period climbed to 161,300 t from 160,700.
Due to summer maintenance, Tomskneftekhim's propylene polymer production fell to 9,500 tonnes from 12,500 tonnes in August, a 5% increase in production compared to the previous ye.
Ufaorgsintez went through 12 days of maintenance in September and production fell to 6,300 tonnes from 11,500 tonnes in August, while overall production was still up 2% from the previous ye.
Last month, NPP Neftekhimiy (Kapotnya) produced 12,400 tonnes, compared to 13,000 tonnes in Augu.
Stavrolen (Lukoil) closed some of its capacity for 39 days of scheduled maintenance work last month, and total polypropylene production fell to 2,700 tonnes from 11,100 tonnes in Augu.
