SABIC adds polypropylene compounding line in Belgium

SABIC launched its new polypropylene (PP) compounding line in Ghent, Belgium, with a virtual opening ceremony
.
The new line, which complements the company's existing polypropylene compound production capacity at its Ghent site, will use raw materials from SABIC's polypropylene plants in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and Heron, the Netherlands
.
It is equipped with large-scale extrusion technology to meet the growing demand for a reliable and stable supply of high-quality, high-performance PP compounds
.

Lada Kurelec, General Manager of SABIC's PP&E4P (Elastomer, PVC, PET, PS and Polyurethane) business, said: "This investment is part of our business strategy for growth through advanced PP compounding solutions aimed at helping customers in automotive, Industries such as home appliances and consumer products develop next-generation lightweight applications

The increased capacity also increases the flexibility of our on-site production to introduce new technologies for PP polymers without compromising the security of supply of existing compound products
