Sinochem News recently, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) announced that it has put into production its new polypropylene (PP) compound production line in Genk, Belgium, and has expanded its PP compound production capacity
.

The company said that the new production line will use raw materials provided by SABIC's PP plants in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and Herlen, the Netherlands

SABIC's PP business general manager Lada Kurelec said that the investment is part of SABIC's growth strategy through advanced PP compound solutions
.

The solution is designed to meet the needs of lightweight applications in customer industries such as automobiles, household appliances, and consumer goods

SABIC's first PP compound plant in Genk, Belgium, started operations in 2010, with a total production capacity of 140,000 tons/year, and a second production line was added in 2013
