Salomon (Salomon) will turn running shoes into ski boots through recycled materials

Recycling is nothing new
.
Salomon product designers have spent more than a year working on the idea as part of a new sustainability initiative
.
Guillaume Mey\zenq, Vice President of Salomon Footwear, said: "We recognize that we must improve the environment by significantly reducing our impact on the planet when making footwear
.
The first step in production is to make shoes from a single material
.
The workers then mix the recycled TPU with new TPU and put the material into an injection molding machine to produce the new ski boots
.
"The concept more than triples the lifespan of Salomon's materials," Concept Shoe wrote in a press release
.
Concept Shoe and the "Playful Game Project"
Salomon's new shoes are part of its "Play to Play" initiative, which aims to encourage consumers to be environmentally responsible when exercising outdoors
.
Saving material in the production of running and ski shoes would be a huge help in achieving this goal
.
Salomon hopes to bring the concept to footwear in 2021
.
This is also part of Salomon's other goal of designing 100% of its new products based on circular economy principles by 2025
