    Oslo-based clean energy company Scatec Solar has signed an agreement to build two PV projects with a capacity of 33MW and 50MW
    in Ukraine's Cherkassy region.

    The €85 million (US$100 million) project will be realized under the country's feed-in tariff (FiT) scheme, with the two plants expected to produce around 106,000 MWh of electricity
    per year.

    The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has pioneered the project financing process
    .
    Financial closure and construction works are expected in 2019 and commercial operations will be put into operation
    in 2019.
    The land will be leased
    from the local municipality on a long-term basis.

    The CEO of Scatec Solar said, "We see this as the first step
    in developing a larger portfolio of solar power plants in the country.
    Change their energy mix and increase the share
    of renewable energy supply.

    The company will be the main equity investor in these projects and aims to secure more equity partners
    for these projects.
    It will also be an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) provider and perform operations and maintenance (O&M) and asset management services
    for plants.

    Scatec generates electricity from 322MW of solar power plants in the Czech Republic, South Africa, Rwanda, Honduras and Jordan, with a total of 1,092MW under construction
