It is reported that Seiko Electronics Co.
, Ltd.
(SII) will expand its lineup
of chip-based electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs).
Products include CPX10080C104F ("CPX104"), CPZ10080C104F ("CPZ104") and CPX10080C402F ("CPX402").
The CPX104 has the lowest internal impedance in the industry (only 0.
5 ohms) and the CPZ104 has an internal impedance of 1.
5 ohms with a very small leakage current
of less than 10nA.
It is understood that CPX104, CPZ104 and CPX402 are small reflow solderable chip EDLCs with very low internal impedance and can discharge large discharge currents
of about several hundred milliamps.
Moreover, the superior hermetic ceramic package guarantees long-term reliability
.
Seiko Electronics succeeded in reducing the leakage current (self-discharge) of the capacitor to less than 10nA while also reducing the internal impedance
of the CPX104 and CPZ104.
Even a small amount of electromotive force of a few microwatts from an energy harvesting device can effectively charge
it.
The CPX402 is an ultra-fast-charging EDLC that ramps up voltage
in a short period of time.
