Serbian utility EPS has signed an agreement with Russia's Silovije Masini to help it overhaul two turbines at its largest hydropower plant, aiming to boost production by 10 percent and extend its lifespan by 40 years

The 1,020 MW Derdap 1 hydroelectric power plant on the Danube, which Serbia manages with neighboring Romania, began overhaul
in 2009.
So far, four of its six turbines have been overhauled

EPS said work on the 194 MW A2 turbine will begin in September and will be completed
in October 2019.
The overhaul of the A3 turbine of the same capacity should be completed
in January 2021.
Djerdap 1 and Djerdap 2, the latter with a capacity of 270 MW, are part of the Serbian project of the Iron Gate hydroelectric and navigation complex, including the 1050 MW Portile de Fier project
on the Romanian side of the Danube.
