Taiyuan University of Technology independently developed a new type of clean fuel, scientifically known as coal-based clean fuel, commonly known as "green carbon"
    .
Residents of Chaicun Town, Jiancaoping District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, use this new type of charcoal, and the small boiler burned at home no longer emits black smoke
    .
This winter, residents in and around Taiyuan's urban villages are using the new clean fuel, and 110,000 small rural boilers have replaced burning raw coal
    .

This new type of carbon is made into clean coke
with low ignition point, low pollution and sufficient combustion by introducing catalytic additives.
Coke oven gas, a by-product of the refining process, can also produce chemical raw materials
    such as methanol and methane.

Du Wenguang, a professor at Taiyuan University of Technology, said, "Coke oven gas is a by-product of the coking process, and in order to completely process it into chemical products such as methanol and methane, special coal gasification methods must be used to supplement carbon to adjust the hydrocarbon ratio
    .
" So he suddenly wondered if he could directly add carbon-containing substances to the coking raw materials to increase the carbon content
    .
Based on this, the R&D team led by Du Wenguang set up a project, with Professor Shangguan Ju, who is engaged in the research of the migration law of sulfur pollutants in the process of coal conversion, and the high-temperature purification of coal gas, as the core team, proposed three core technologies based on "efficient sulfur fixation, independent carbon supplementation, and catalytic combustion assistance", and developed the efficient and clean utilization
of inferior coal by traditional coke ovens.

If this technology is promoted on a large scale, it will be of great significance to the transformation and development of Shanxi's coal and coke economy and the revitalization of the stock assets of Shanxi's struggling coking industry, and may be able to build Shanxi's serious loss-making coking enterprises into the largest coal-based clean fuel production base
    in China.
