SIBUR invests in expansion of Russian petrochemical project

Sinochem News recently, Russia's Sibur announced that the company will invest 400 billion rubles (about 5.
2 billion US dollars) to expand the Russian chemical production project, and may invest an additional 195 billion rubles
.

SIBUR said the company has signed an agreement with the Russian Energy Ministry to modernize existing production capacity and add new facilities at SIBUR's world-scale petrochemical complexes Nizhnekansk Petrochemical Plant, Kazanorgsintez Petrochemical Plant in Kazan and Topol.

The company said that if development goes well between 2022 and 2027, the company will invest at least 110 billion rubles for the further expansion of the Topolsk complex petrochemical plant and at least 85 billion rubles for the company's plants in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Russian government recently updated the national gas and petrochemical development plan to 2030, aiming to increase the production of petrochemical raw materials to 66.
